World is small, #travel more !

My Google Location History

I advice all people to get out of their comfort zone and travel.

Travel to the most strange destinations and see that the world is a small little place where everybody has basically the same desires and hobbies!

People are not so different as some politicians want you to think. Isolating yourself from the world just makes you a better slave to politicians trying to get rich and keep you stupid and poor. See #Brexit for details 🙁

I was born in a former communist country that had tightly closed borders until I was 13. At 43 I got to pass through 42 countries in total 🙂 I still finds it amazing how quickly I recovered the gap in travel compared to my age group from Western Europe.

Anti-vaxers stop reading, sensitive content following.

There are lot of things people traveling and posting nice Instagram images do not tell you. One crucial but not so publicized information is the number of vaccines and protection routines you need to follow.

The collection of vaccines I got administered:

Stamaril – used to help prevent yellow fever – valid for life
Havrix – used to help prevent hepatitis A in adults – valid 1 year
Typhoid Sanofi – used to help prevent typhoid fever – valid 3 years
Engerix B – used to help prevent hepatitis B in adults – valid 1 month
Engerix B – used to help prevent hepatitis B in adults – valid 5 months
Engerix B – used to help prevent hepatitis B in adults – valid 5 years
Avaxim – used to help prevent hepatitis A vaccine – valid for life
Typhoid Sanofi – used to help prevent typhoid fever – valid 3 years
Dultavax – used to help prevent diphtheria, tetanus, poliomyelitis – valid 10 years

In total 9 shots in the last 7 years 🙂

Besides this, I developed my own health-related rules:

  • Carry with you disinfectant: hand gel or spray .
  • Wash your hands with the gel as many times as possible.
  • Carry a small bag of pills for stomach problems, some antipyretic pills and any other pills you need. Do not count on finding the same pills or brand of pills everywhere.
  • Do not eat things you are not comfortable with.
  • Drink bottled water only.
  • Eat processed food. I am not a big fan of salads. You never have control over the water used to wash it.
  • When you pass through crowded airports be aware of your surroundings.

Enjoy your travel, do not worry too much:

  • Try to look on the window when you fly above 10.000m, Seeing the curvature of the planet is life-changing.
  • Try to always eat before boarding a ferryboat. You will be happy in those moments when everybody throws up around you that you can join them 🙂 Trust me, it is worse to have an empty stomach in those moments.
  • When your airplane engine fails, do not panic. You cannot fly the plane better than the pilot.
  • Try to enjoy the fact that above the clouds the sun is always shining during the day and the stars are always visible during the night.
  • Above the clouds the sky is clear all the times.
  • Try to enjoy new food and the beautiful scenery of every country.

Go and explore the world , there is no excuse not to do it. Take a long holiday between jobs or after your studies. Find a job that has traveling in the job description and get paid to travel.

Traveling through the world sets you free and you get to know your true self.

    Hey George! Nice blog!

We took the ferry with Mihai, Mauricio and Paul during our on site visit to Trinidad & Tobago. Now we understand why all the people were eating a lot before the throw up time came!

We enjoyed a lot your post here at the Quito office. Big fans of your blog.

Yes man, Mihai told me about your ferry adventure. I had a similar one in Tanzania. Worst boat trip ever 🙂
